GridPencil

Privacy

Last updated: October 2026. This page explains, in plain terms, what information GridPencil handles. The short answer is: very little.

You are not asked for anything

There is no sign-up and no login. You can use every part of the site without giving a name, an email address or any other personal detail.

What your browser keeps

Three small things are saved in your browser's own storage, on your device: the list of puzzles you have solved, your choice of light or dark paper, and your answer to the advertising notice if one has been shown. None of this is sent to us. Clearing the site's data in your browser settings removes it.

Server records

The computer that hosts GridPencil keeps ordinary log files, as almost every web server does. They note the address a request came from, the page requested, the time and the type of browser. We use them only to keep the site running and to see roughly how busy it is.

Advertising and cookies

GridPencil may show adverts through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to deliver adverts, to limit how often you see the same one and to measure results. Where the law allows and you agree, they may also use cookies to choose adverts based on your visits to this and other sites.

When adverts are active, a notice lets you choose non-personalised adverts instead. Those are selected from the content of the page and your general location. You can also change your preferences at Google Ad Settings, and Google describes its use of data on partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Email

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to reply and for nothing else.

Children

The puzzles are suitable for all ages, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
